Helena Aeberli is a writer from London. She holds a BA in History and Politics and an MSt in Early Modern History from the University of Oxford, with a research focus on gender and medicine in the seventeenth century. She is interested in internet culture, feminism, eating disorders, and the history of medicine and the body. She is terminally online, but trying not to be.

Helena writes twenty-first century demoniac, a Substack blog about the strange and fascinating phenomena that make up modern culture. An eclectic mix of insights on internet culture, art and literature, history, and mental health, twenty-first century demoniac takes a closer look at what we’re missing when we get stuck in a doomscroll.

Her writing and fiction has featured in several publications, and her short story Tick Tock was shortlisted for the 2021 Oxford Review of Books Short Fiction Prize.
